Dr. Odet Kaspari-Chiriboga, affectionately known as “Dr. K", is the owner of Hillcrest Pet Hospital in Glendale, California. She is a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian with a love for internal medicine and surgery, as well as her deep commitment to the well-being of pets and their families.

Educational Background and Professional Career

Dr. Kaspari-Chiriboga's journey into veterinary medicine began in an unconventional way. Despite a varied undergraduate experience, Dr. K still wasn’t sure which direction she wanted to pursue. A pivotal moment came when a friend invited her to an orientation at the Western University of Health Sciences. It was there she discovered the college was beginning a brand new program for veterinary medicine.

Dr. K’s own mother had a deep love of animals, letting her experience growing up in a household always filled with a variety of pets. This upbringing instilled in her a deep affection for animals and a desire to care for them. Taking a leap of faith, she applied and was accepted into their veterinary program, graduating with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2007.

Her clinical studies led her to opportunities for internships in Florida, New York, and California. These experiences in specialty medicine, mobile veterinary services, and emergency medicine laid a strong foundation for her career, providing her with hands-on training and exposure to a wide range of veterinary practices. Dr. Kaspari-Chiriboga honed her skills working alongside some incredibly respected professionals in the field. In West Los Angeles, she worked under Dr. Alan Schulman, a board-certified surgeon in emergency medicine and surgery.

Professional Affiliations and Community Involvement

Dr. Kaspari-Chiriboga is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), staying abreast of the latest advancements and best practices in veterinary medicine. Her favorite part of her job is being an integral part of the community, building lasting relationships with pets and their families.

Personal Life

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Kaspari-Chiriboga enjoys a range of activities that reflect her vibrant personality and dedication to her family and faith. She loves playing dominoes with her husband and daughter, participating in church activities, and supporting her daughter in her endeavors. She also enjoys hiking and bicycling.

Above all, the most important aspect of Dr. K’s life is her relationship with the LORD. Her identity is in Jesus Christ, knowing Him and making Him known.
